Tinubu designates Adedeji as the acting chairman of FIRS

Zacch A. Adedeji, the Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on revenue, has been named the acting chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS). This appointment was officially confirmed on Thursday by Akin Akinwale, a member of the State Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State. Adedeji, a highly qualified accountant and expert in corporate tax and public finance development, graduated with First-Class honors in Management and Accounting from Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife. He brings over 15 years of corporate accounting experience to his new role.

Adedeji previously held the position of commissioner during the first term of the APC administration led by the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi in Oyo State, from 2011 to 2015. He was among the appointees announced as aides to President Tinubu in June. Additionally, he assumed the role of the fifth substantive Executive Secretary of the National Sugar Development Council (NSDC) in March 2021, during the tenure of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
