Supreme Court Ruling: Akeredolu calls for unity to construct a better Nigeria
Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, extends his congratulations to President Bola Tinubu following his triumph at the Supreme Court on Thursday.
The governor views this victory as a significant achievement for democracy and a clear indication of the widespread support provided by the majority of voters in the country to the All Progressives Congress and Tinubu.
Akeredolu expressed these sentiments in an official statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Richard Olatunde, on Thursday.
The statement emphasized, "The Supreme Court's ruling definitively resolves the longstanding legal dispute related to the 2023 presidential election, in which President Bola Tinubu emerged as the resounding victor."
"This verdict echoes the unified voice of the Nigerian electorate who cast their overwhelming support for the APC and President Tinubu. It also reaffirms the nation's trust in our judiciary as the ultimate guardian of the people's interests," added Akeredolu.
He went on to say, "The protracted legal process has underscored the resilience of our democracy. As the opposition exercised their constitutional rights, it is now time to come together with President Tinubu to forge a new Nigeria.
"We hold a strong belief that Nigeria will continue to prosper under President Tinubu's leadership. He is a dedicated, unwavering, and compassionate leader whose enduring commitment has always been the well-being of the Nigerian people."
