Onoh Thinks Peter Obi Might Betray Nigeria, Like He Did to His In-Law
Former southeast spokesperson for President Bola Tinubu during the election campaigns, Josef Onoh, has raised doubts about the loyalty of the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi. Onoh accused Obi of betraying his political godfather, the late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, who he described as his brother-in-law and the founder of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Onoh, a former aide to President Tinubu, labeled Obi as a fair-weather politician driven solely by selfish ambitions. This comes in response to a press conference where Obi asked President Tinubu to disclose the truth about his identity and academic records. Onoh dismissed Obi's remarks, stating that he was seeking relevance as his political influence diminishes and emphasized that President Tinubu requires no fresh introduction to Nigerians.
The former campaign spokesperson accused the LP flagbearer of abandoning APGA for selfish reasons despite promising Ojukwu that he would never leave the party. Onoh further alleged that Obi attempted to undermine the office of the President during his tenure as Anambra State Governor.
Addressing Obi, Onoh stated, “Permit me to quote the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson: ‘Nothing is at last sacred but the integrity of your own mind.’ In the same vein, he said elsewhere, ‘No law can be sacred to me but that of my nature.’ Unfortunately, you have no integrity, your nature is never to be trusted, appearing more righteous than the pope while sowing the seeds of discord in a pious manner."
He concluded by asserting that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the 16th and current president of Nigeria, emphasizing that Tinubu needs no introduction, while Obi is the 16th defeated presidential candidate for the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Onoh urged Obi to verify the facts.
