News Flash: Musa Aliyu Officially Confirmed as ICPC Chairman by the Senate
Musa Aliyu has been officially appointed as the substantive chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) following his successful screening and confirmation by the Senate. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had formally requested the Senate's confirmation of Aliyu's appointment in a letter on Wednesday. The screening took place during Thursday's plenary session, starting around 11:50 a.m. The process involved a suspension of relevant Senate rules to allow Aliyu to be screened, and it was conducted in the Committee of the Whole, chaired by Deputy President Jibirin Barau. Aliyu, a lawyer and the Attorney-General of Jigawa State, successfully navigated the screening process.
