Nasarawa introduces 'luxury ride' to enhance transportation
After the removal of petroleum subsidies by President Bola Tinubu's administration, Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has launched a fleet of new buses called "Nasarawa Luxury Ride." These buses are intended to enhance transportation for residents and enhance connectivity across the state.
Representing the Governor at the inauguration ceremony held at the Yahaya Sabo Bus Terminal in Lafia was the State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Adamu Gosho. He clarified that the introduction of these buses aims to mitigate the current economic challenges, particularly the high cost of road transportation, and to enhance the quality of life for the state's residents.
The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) further stated that this initiative reflects the government's dedication to improving transportation infrastructure and services across the state. The goal is to enhance the daily lives of residents and encourage sustainable mobility solutions.
Ahemba highlighted that both residents and visitors of the state would benefit from an upgraded commuting experience, featuring subsidized fares, shorter travel times, heightened comfort, and enhanced reliability.
"In order to ensure the efficient operation and management of the new buses, the State Government has partnered with Mash, a reputable transportation company, to achieve our objectives," he added.
"The new buses are tailored to fulfill the transportation requirements of Nasarawa State residents. With their advanced technology, ergonomic interiors, and exceptional fuel efficiency, they are well-suited for both short and long-distance trips.
"These vehicles are also equipped with amenities to accommodate elderly passengers, individuals with disabilities, and families traveling with young children, promoting inclusivity and overall comfort," he elaborated.
The SSA urged residents to embrace and endorse the new public transportation system for the betterment of the state.
