Kogi Guber: Ododo Dumps APC, Slams Yahaya Bello Over ‘Poor Performance’
A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Yahaya Ododo, has switched allegiance to the Action Alliance (AA) in preparation for the upcoming November 11 governorship election. Alongside his supporters, Ododo formally left the ruling party at an event held in his ward in Ankpa Local Government Area.
Explaining his decision, the retired military officer highlighted the imperative of instilling equity, fairness, and justice in the gubernatorial history of the state. Ododo criticized the performance of the Yahaya Bello-led government, asserting that it failed to fulfill promises made in 2015 and contended that the administration reached Lugard House by chance. He advocated for the Kogi West Senatorial District to produce the next Governor of the State.
In a bold declaration of support, Ododo endorsed the AA governorship candidate, Otunba Olayinka Braimoh. He emphasized his extensive political experience and expressed readiness to work for Braimoh's candidacy in the upcoming election.
Responding to the defection, Braimoh acknowledged the new entrants and supporters at the ceremony, conveying his commitment to a mission aimed at lifting Kogi State and its people out of poverty. The AA governorship candidate also appealed for additional support from the Ankpa electorate.
