INEC Reveals Agent Numbers for Bayelsa, Imo, Kogi Governorship Polls

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed the total number of accredited party agents participating in the forthcoming governorship elections in Bayelsa, Imo, and Kogi states. The electoral body released a list of polling and collation agents, revealing that a total of 137,973 agents representing various political parties, including the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and the Labour Party, will participate in the governorship election.

According to INEC, 34,704 agents were uploaded for Bayelsa State, 65,274 for Imo State, and 37,995 for Kogi State, making a total of 137,973 agents. The detailed breakdown indicated that not all parties nominated agents for every polling and collation center, and some parties had no agents in certain states despite having candidates in the election.

The Information Booklet for the three governorship polls, released by INEC, includes an infographic summary of registered voters and Permanent Voters' Cards (PVCs) collected by Local Government Areas (LGAs). It also provides distribution information based on gender, age group, occupation, and disability.

The statement from INEC further noted that elections would not be held in two polling units in Bayelsa and 38 in Imo State where there are no registered voters. Sixteen political parties are sponsoring candidates in Bayelsa State, while 18 parties are participating in both Imo and Kogi States. The elections will be held in 10,470 polling units, excluding the 40 units without registered voters.
