Former Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has affirmed his readiness to be accessible for addressing matters concerning his administration whenever the occasion demands. Ortom, who was unsuccessful in his pursuit of a Senatorial seat under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), conveyed this sentiment through a statement issued by his Media Aide, Mr. Terver Akase, on Wednesday in Makurdi.
He appealed to his supporters to maintain a composed and lawful demeanor in response to purported provocations from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) within the state, advising against escalating political tensions.
Ortom acknowledged the concerns expressed by various individuals regarding allegations of harassment through petitions to anti-graft agencies, as well as the arrests of his appointees and seizure of his vehicles.
The former governor also appealed for serenity and advised those discussing the situation to exercise caution and refrain from exacerbating the political atmosphere.
"I possess the capability to address the allegations leveled against me and other members of my government. I have consistently upheld my faith in the rule of law," stated Ortom.
He reiterated his willingness to be available for addressing matters pertaining to his administration whenever necessary.
Ortom extended his gratitude to his supporters and well-wishers for their prayers and words of goodwill.
