Ganduje Addresses Efforts to Resolve APC Leadership Crisis
Amid the ongoing turmoil regarding the leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), the National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, has offered his perspective on the matter. The upheaval arose in the aftermath of the announcement of the new National Working Committee (NWC) and zonal officers.
Several state chapters of the party voiced objections to the candidates put forth by the NWC, which is helmed by former Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje. This situation led to the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, and certain state legislators converging on the party's national secretariat to prevent the inauguration of Duro Mesoko, the nominee for Deputy National Publicity Secretary.
In a statement issued by the Kogi State APC, they disavowed any involvement in nominating Mesoko for the aforementioned position. To prevent any potential disorder, law enforcement personnel were strategically stationed both within and around the secretariat.
After a private discussion with Governor Bello in Abuja, Ganduje addressed reporters and pledged to find an amicable resolution to the crisis. The APC National Chairman further affirmed his commitment to reconciling all differences within the party. Ganduje also conveyed his confidence in Governor Bello's capability to secure victory for the party in the upcoming gubernatorial election scheduled for November 11.
Governor Bello echoed his faith in the party's leadership and remained resolute in the belief that the APC will successfully maintain control of the state.
