APC Leader in Imo Urges LP Candidate to Step Down for Uzodinma per Agreement
Chief Tony Chukwu, an All Progressives Congress (APC) leader, advised Labour Party's governorship candidate, Athan Achonu, to withdraw in favor of Hope Uzodimma. The advice was given during the Imo State Council of Elders’ meeting at Chukwu's residence in Umeze 1, Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State. Chukwu emphasized that this recommendation aligns with an agreement among Imo Elders to reinstate rotational governorship, allowing Governor Hope Uzodimma to complete his second term. He stressed the importance of implementing this agreement, citing its successful practice in Abia, Anambra, Enugu, and Ebonyi States. Chukwu urged unity among the people, emphasizing the need to avoid any crisis in the state. Additionally, he called on Okigwe residents to actively mobilize for APC, ensuring a decisive victory for Governor Uzodimma and demonstrating support for Orlu Zone.
