Our National Assembly needs to pass an Anti-Taliban Bill 2021 with the following 10 provisions in it

Ayo Akinfe

[1] As from 2021, Nigeria has to start manufacturing all her armaments locally. The goal is that by 2030, Nigeria will be wholly self-reliant when it comes to military and defence equipment

[2] Nigeria needs to introduce a robust border policy that will allow her to police entry point and limit the smuggling of arms into the country

[3] To combat the terror threat, Nigeria needs to establish a special forces commando unit similar to say the British SAS or the US Navy Seals

[4] States and local governments must be compelled to build more factories, leisure and sports facilities so our youth stop congregating in mosques and churches where they get indoctrinated

[5] We must bring police remuneration and working conditions up to par with that of the armed forces

[6] Nigeria must launch a public works programme every five years to put our unemployed youths back to work

[7] We need to get our clergymen working on investment projects so they have less time and energy to mislead our youth. Every member of Boko Haram was initially influenced by some deranged imam

[8] We must create a special anti-terrorist unit within the Nigeria Police Force

[9] Decentralise our military structure so that local army battalions have their own airborne divisions with their own aircraft and pilots

[10] Never allow the illiteracy rate to rise above 10% in any state. If it does, it should trigger automatic impeachment proceeds against the governor
