Zamfara gov orders computer training for commissioners, aides
Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has launched a computer appreciation course for Commissioners and Special Advisers, emphasizing his administration's commitment to building a modern, technology-driven state.The governor stated that the training is a key step towards achieving his government's vision of ensuring every arm of government operates with efficiency and precision enabled by technology. He highlighted the importance of digital skills in modern governance, saying competence in basic computing is essential for effective public service delivery.
Governor Lawal noted that the Zamfara Information and Communications Technology Agency has initiated digital reforms, including the Zamfara e-Governance Platform and partnerships with global tech companies to boost digital skills. He urged participants to take the program seriously and apply the knowledge gained to improve productivity, accountability, and service delivery.
The governor warned that there will be a test of what participants have learned, which will form part of their performance appraisal.
In related news, the National Youth Service Corps, Zamfara State Secretariat, has commended the Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre Gusau, Dr. Bello A. Mohammed, for his continued support to the scheme, particularly during the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Orientation course. The NYSC appreciated the Centre's timely deployment of medical personnel and provision of essential drugs to the camp clinic, describing the gesture as crucial to the smooth conduct of the exercise.
