Wanted Alleged Criminal Reportedly Joins Police Force
A photograph circulating on social media shows Nasiru Abdullahi, also known as Chile Maidoki, a suspected notorious criminal who was declared wanted, wearing a police constabulary uniform. The image, shared by Saharareporters, captures Abdullahi alongside a senior police officer at one of the Police Colleges and Training Schools.
Chile Maidoki, sought by the Kano command with a N100,000 bounty on his head, is reportedly among the 10,000 police constabularies undergoing a six-month training program to bolster community policing nationwide.
In a previous statement, police spokesperson Abdullahi Kiyawa revealed that Abdullahi voluntarily surrendered to the Commissioner of Police. The statement quoted Abdullahi as admitting to resorting to sleeping "at burial ground yards in Kano city just to evade detection by security personnel."
The police statement declared, "This brings a total of 100 documented and profiled Repentant Criminals being that so far surrendered themselves to the police command."
Chile Maidoki, expressing remorse, appealed to the police and the public for forgiveness, asserting that he has repented and is now willing to collaborate with the police to foster lasting peace and development in the state. The statement also highlighted two other wanted criminals, Abba Burakita and Hantar Daba, with a N100,000 bounty on each, urging individuals with credible information on their whereabouts to contact the nearest police station.
