Visa Ban on Nigerians by UAE Lifted as Tinubu Clinches Groundbreaking Deals
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has achieved significant breakthroughs in his negotiations with the United Arab Emirates (UAE), concurrently with the lifting of the visa restrictions on Nigerians.
According to a statement from Tinubu's spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, the President and the UAE ruler, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, convened in Abu Dhabi on Monday to conclude a momentous agreement, resulting in the immediate removal of the visa ban imposed on Nigerian travelers.
Additionally, as part of this historic accord, both Etihad Airlines and Emirates Airlines will promptly resume their flight schedules to and from Nigeria, without any further delay, Ngelale confirmed.
As per the agreement reached by both Heads of State, the swift resumption of flight operations between the two countries via these two airlines will not require an immediate payment from the Nigerian government.
Ngelale further noted that in acknowledgment of President Tinubu's economic development initiatives and the proposals he presented to his counterpart, a mutually agreed-upon framework has been put in place.
This newly established framework will entail investments worth several billions of U.S. dollars into various sectors of the Nigerian economy.
These sectors encompass defense, agriculture, and various other areas, with investments being facilitated by the investment entities of the United Arab Emirates government.
Furthermore, President Tinubu has expressed satisfaction in successfully brokering a collaborative foreign exchange liquidity program between the two governments, with comprehensive details to be revealed in the forthcoming weeks, as noted by Ngelale.
In closing, the President extends his commendation to UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his unwavering friendship and determined commitment to working together towards the complete normalization and elevation of relations between these two significant nations.
