Two arraigned for stealing prepaid metre in Osun
On Tuesday, Musibau Adisa, 55, and Busari Tajudeen, 51, stood before an Osun State Magistrate Court in Osogbo for stealing pre-paid meters.The defendants, who were accused of stealing the metre in Osogbo's Arogunmosa area, appeared before Magistrate Adekanmi Adeyeba.
Addressing the court, Mr Rasaq Olayiwola, the police prosecutor in charge of the case, stated that the defendants stole Ibrahim Semiu's meter with No. 45060226300 in May 2024 in Arogunmosa Area, Oke-Baale, Osogbo.
Olayiwola stated that the defendants allegedly sold the goods.
According to him, the defendants also got N80,000 from Oluwakemi Adeniji by pretending to sell her a prepaid meter.
The alleged crimes were reported to violate Sections 516, 390(9), and 419 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 vol. II Laws of Osun State, Nigeria, 2002.
Mr Kaisemobi Ngwoke, who had announced the defendants' attendance, begged the court to grant them the most lenient bail terms possible.
Mr Adeyeba granted the bail plea for N50,000 with one surety each and postponed the case until August 20, 2024, for a hearing.
