Tragic Yobe Truck Accident Claims Eight Lives, Leaves 52 Others Injured
Tragically, around eight individuals have reportedly lost their lives, while fifty-two (52) others have sustained varying degrees of injuries in a devastating accident in Yobe State.
According to reports obtained by Naija News, the unfortunate incident occurred along the Potiskum-Nangere road and involved a collision between a trailer and a truck. The travelers were on their way to the renowned Potiskum cattle market when one of the trucks lost control.
An eyewitness, identified as Adamu Hassan, confirmed the incident to Channels Television, stating that the deceased have been transported to the Potiskum Specialist Hospital. Meanwhile, the injured are currently undergoing treatment at the General Hospital in Sabon Garin, Nangere, at the time of this report.
Although there is no official confirmation from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the state, personnel from both the FRSC and the State Emergency Management Agency were observed assisting in evacuating the victims to a nearby healthcare facility.
In a separate incident, bandits reportedly abducted over fifty people, including the District Head, from Bagega, a community in Zamfara State. The attackers, on motorcycles, stormed the village on Tuesday, shooting indiscriminately and setting houses on fire. The Village Head, Malam Abubakar Uba, confirmed the incident, stating that the gunmen first kidnapped the District Head and then proceeded to abduct dozens of others in the village.
