Tragic Accident on Kaduna-Abuja Highway Claims Six Lives
A Gulf car company's commercial vehicle with registration DKA 555 XF collided near Sabon Gaya, Kakau axis on the Kaduna-Abuja highway, resulting in a tragic accident claiming six lives. The incident occurred around 7 a.m. on Thursday, with reports suggesting the driver lost control and collided with a concrete barricade.
Kabir Yusuf Nadabo, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kaduna State, confirmed the accident, citing factors like loss of control, speeding, and a burst tire as causes. The victims' bodies were taken to St. Gerald Catholic Hospital in Kakuri, Kaduna South LGA.
Nadabo urged caution and responsible driving, expressing concern about the timing of accidents on the highway, particularly between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m., and 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. He emphasized the need for patience, especially in the ongoing reconstruction section of the Kaduna-Abuja road.
Offering condolences to the victims' families, Nadabo highlighted the incident's tragic yet preventable nature, urging motorists to avoid illegal diversions and exercise caution on the road.
