In an attack on the Ruwandoruwa community in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, armed bandits killed a mobile policeman attached to the Maru Police Division and abducted 15 individuals, including the wife of a local monarch. The assailants opened fire indiscriminately around 12:30 am on Monday, resulting in the tragic death of the mobile policeman who was shot while attempting to defend the district head's residence. Although the district head was not present, the bandits seized the opportunity to abduct his wife. As of now, there is no communication from the bandits regarding ransom demands for the abducted individuals.

The Zamfara State Police Command has not issued a statement on the incident, leaving the community on edge as authorities assess the situation.

In a separate incident, the wife of the slain Pastor of Second Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) in Kaduna State, Grace Maraya, has regained her freedom two days after her husband was killed. The kidnappers had initially demanded N3 million, but after negotiation, they accepted N350,000 before releasing her on Sunday night. The gunmen had stormed the clergy's house, killing the pastor and abducting his wife last week. The pastor's son had also survived an attempted kidnapping three months ago with the help of the community.
