Top Veteran Broadcaster, Jike Attoh Passes Away

Renowned broadcaster and communications expert, Jika Attoh, has passed away. The journalist succumbed to an undisclosed illness at POSH Hospital in New Haven, Enugu State. The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Enugu confirmed his death on Wednesday.


At the time of his demise, Attoh was reportedly separated from his wife, and they had three children together.


Jika Attoh gained prominence through the widely acclaimed Kaakaki program on Africa Independent Television (AIT), which was founded by the late Raymond Dokpesi. He later joined Cosmo FM, owned by former Enugu State governor Chimaroke Nnamani. During Attoh's tenure, the radio station became the first broadcast channel to offer 24-hour services East of the Niger.


Attoh also contributed to the state-owned Enugu State Broadcasting Service, enhancing its programming and service delivery. Additionally, he had a stint as a news anchor at Channels Television and served as a tutor at the West Africa Broadcast and Media Academy (WABMA), specializing in broadcast training and management.
