Tinubu Expresses Sorrow Over the Loss of Soldiers in Niger.

President Bola Tinubu has expressed his condolences to the military personnel who lost their lives in Niger State. Over the weekend, bandits invaded Chukuba Ward within the Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State, resulting in the downing of a fighter helicopter and the unfortunate deaths of the pilot and other officers.

In a personally signed statement issued yesterday, President Tinubu conveyed his deep sorrow regarding the tragic incident. He stated, "The heartbreaking loss of our brave officers and soldiers in a helicopter crash near Chukuba Village in Shiroro, Niger State, on Monday, has filled me with profound sadness."

He went on to honor these individuals for their unwavering commitment to duty while participating in an evacuation mission. Their selfless service to the nation, he emphasized, came at the highest cost.

"While we grieve their untimely departure, their memory will endure, not merely as military personnel, but as national heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for the safety and stability of our nation," he remarked.

President Tinubu highlighted their courage, acknowledging their unwavering dedication to their solemn duty of ensuring the peace and security of fellow citizens. "We pay tribute to their sacrifice, dedication, and allegiance to Nigeria—the nation they cherished and served until the end."

He extended his heartfelt sympathies on behalf of the nation to their families, as well as to the Chief of Defence Staff, Chief of Air Staff, Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Naval Staff, and the entire Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The President concluded his statement with a prayer for the departed, stating, "May God grant them eternal rest."
