The governor of Ebonyi State suggests a budget of N204 billion

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi declared on Wednesday that the 2024 state budget would reflect the essential needs of the people in the state.

The Ebonyi government has projected a total sum of N204 billion for the 2024 budget, emphasizing priorities such as education, employment, health, and human capital. The governor made these statements in Abakaliki during the Community-Based Input on the Proposed 2024 Budget.

 In the upcoming year, our commitment is to integrate individuals engaged in hawking across various regions into skill development programs. Furthermore, we recognize the importance of providing our people with quality education, and thus, we plan to make substantial investments in the education sector. Our initiative includes awarding scholarships to at least 300 graduates for their master's programs and revitalizing our primary and secondary school levels."

 "In his earlier breakdown, the Commissioner for Finance, Dr. Leonard Uguru, segmented the budget into N132.8 billion for capital expenditure and N71.3 billion for recurrent expenditure.
