Terrorists Release Female Student Abducted from Federal University Katsina After 45 Days

A female student from Federal University Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State, who was kidnapped approximately two months ago, has been released by the terrorists after a ransom was paid. Muhammad Fatima Ruqqayat was held captive for more than 45 days, and the family confirmed her release on Sunday.

The terrorists reportedly demanded over N4 million from the family and the school management before releasing her. Earlier reports indicated that at least five female students were abducted from the university hostel in the North-West region. The assailants had stormed the school environment and invaded the students' private lodge, where they abducted the female students.

Muhammad Taoheed, one of Ruqqayat's relatives, confirmed her release after the terrorists collected over N4 million in ransom from the family and the school management.

In a separate incident, the wife of the slain Pastor of Second Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) in Kaduna State, Grace Maraya, who was abducted two days after her husband's killing, has regained her freedom. The kidnappers demanded N3 million initially, but after negotiation, they accepted N350,000 before releasing her. The pastor, Rev Amako Maraya, was killed during the gunmen's attack on the clergy's house, and his wife was abducted. The community assisted in securing her release, and she is currently receiving medical attention in a hospital.
