Police apprehend four individuals suspected of involvement in armed robbery
Lagos State Police Command has reported the apprehension of four individuals suspected of being involved in armed robbery, particularly in the areas of Ikorodu and its surroundings.
The Command's spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, officially confirmed the arrest in a statement released on Friday.
Hundeyin disclosed that the apprehension took place at approximately 1:00 a.m. on Thursday, orchestrated by the CP’s Tactical Squad based on credible information. The suspects, who are reportedly affiliated with the Eiye Confraternity, were apprehended in the Ginti area of Elepe in Ikorodu.
He further detailed the recovery of various exhibits from the suspects, including three English double-barrel guns, one pump-action gun, one Remington model 700 rifle, one locally-made pistol, and 69 rounds of AK-47 live ammunition.
"Additionally, we seized 68 rounds of live cartridges, five rounds of 7.62 live ammunition, one Beretta pistol magazine, four battle axes, three daggers, five cutlasses, one digger, and one police camouflage," he reported.
Hundeyin continued, stating, "Furthermore, we recovered one face mask, one Lexus 300 SUV, one Volvo wagon XC-70, and one POS machine."
He further mentioned that an investigation into their operations has commenced.
