PalmPay begins campaign to eliminate fintech fraud

A financial technology company, PalmPay Limited, has urged its customers nationwide to stay vigilant against the tricks employed by scammers and fraudsters.

During a public awareness walk in Kano, the bank’s Managing Director, Chika Nwosu, emphasized the importance of this message to help individuals protect themselves from deceitful tactics.

Nwosu explained that the initiative was crucial to ensure no customers of the bank fall victim to fraudulent schemes. The Managing Director pointed out that although reports of fraud are on the decline, the bank aims to reduce them to zero.

He expressed, “We strive for a robust financial ecosystem. Our goal is to eradicate any form of fraud on our platform. We do not want any user of PalmPay to become a target for fraudsters.”

He further added, “I encourage our customers to exercise caution. Avoid clicking any link that appears on your phone or social media without first verifying its authenticity. If you have doubts about a link, refrain from clicking on it. Stay alert to the tactics of the fraudsters.”

Outlining the purpose of the campaign, he stated: “The motivation for this initiative stems from the feedback we receive through our platforms, social media, and customer service lines. While the frequency of incidents may be decreasing, this does not mean we should become complacent. Our aim is to completely eradicate it or bring it to zero.”
