PDP: Nigerians Express Regret Over Voting for Tinubu
The Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) expressed concern on Tuesday about the economic challenges faced by Nigerians who were allegedly coerced into voting for President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The opposition party highlighted that many of those who supported the APC now see their choice as a misjudgment, leading to feelings of remorse.
Kennedy Peretei, the Publicity Secretary of the PDP in the state, conveyed this in response to statements made by Ade Adetimehin, the Chairman of the APC in Ondo State, who had claimed that the PDP was no longer relevant.
Peretei emphasized that Adetimehin should be issuing apologies on behalf of the APC for the hardships and suffering endured by Nigerians, instead of making such assertions. Peretei further noted, "Engaging in a debate with Mr. Ade Adetimehin, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ondo State, about his reckless statements would have been unnecessary."
He pointed out that Adetimehin seems to be oblivious to the fact that the people of Ondo State hold the APC and its governance accountable for their difficulties over the past eight years. This includes the impact of the withdrawal of fuel subsidies on citizens.
Peretei also stated, "He fails to realize that even those who were misled into voting for the APC in the 2023 general elections are already lamenting and regretting their miscalculation, which has brought immense hardship upon them and their families."
