Oyo State Government Cracks Down on Healthcare Facilities Engaging in Quackery

Oyo State Government Takes Action: Five Private Health Facilities Sealed in Ibadan for Regulatory Non-Compliance and Employing Quack Doctors

In an effort to safeguard the health and well-being of its residents, the Oyo State Government has taken decisive action by sealing five private health facilities in Ibadan, the state capital. According to a statement by Rotimi Babalola, the Director of Press and Public Relations at the Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism, these healthcare facilities were shut down for failing to meet regulatory standards.

Investigations revealed that the facilities were also employing unqualified and unlicensed doctors, commonly known as quack doctors. The inspection exposed troubling evidence of malpractice, misdiagnoses, and inappropriate treatments being administered to unsuspecting patients.

The five healthcare facilities that were sealed were found to be deficient in terms of equipment, personnel, and adherence to standard medical regulations.

Additionally, some of these hospitals were discovered to have employed unqualified personnel practicing medicine without the required qualifications and license. The current administration emphasizes its unwavering commitment to ensuring that healthcare services in the state maintain the highest standards of quality and professionalism.

Underlining the significance of healthcare as one of its cardinal programs, the government, led by His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, considers the health of the people paramount. As evidence of this commitment, the government conducts the "Omititun Free Health Mission" quarterly throughout the state to provide essential healthcare services.

"We are steadfast in our determination to uphold medical standards without any compromise that could endanger lives. The closure of these hospitals serves as a clear testament to our dedication to ensuring the delivery of top-notch healthcare within our state."
