Ogun State's So-Safe Corps Catches Member of Robbery Gang
The So-Safe Corps operating in Ogun State has apprehended an individual identified as Michael Olanrewaju, who is believed to be a member of a well-known robbery syndicate. The suspect was apprehended around 5:30 AM on Tuesday, August 15th, in Agbado Oke-Aro within the Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Moruf Yusuf, the spokesperson for So-Safe, revealed in an official statement that the suspect had managed to evade arrest on numerous occasions and even inflicted injuries on law enforcement personnel during previous arrest attempts. Olanrewaju, a 26-year-old resident of Abattoir Oju-Irin in Lagos State, is notorious for his involvement in stealing motorbikes and power generators within Ogun State.
Commonly known as 'Skendu,' the suspect's modus operandi often involved escaping to Lagos after successfully executing robbery operations in Ogun, as disclosed by Yusuf.
Yusuf further mentioned that the suspect came to the attention of undercover officers from the Agbado/Oke-Aro/Ibaragun Area Command, operating under Assistant Commander Akeem Olaiya.
"Initial investigations revealed that the suspect specializes in stealing motorbikes and power generators within the Olambe communities and the surrounding areas of Ifo Local Government."
"The suspect has been handed over to the Nigeria Police at the Ajuwon Divisional Police Headquarters for further investigation and potential prosecution," concluded the statement.
