NDLEA apprehends ten individuals suspected of drug dealing within a single month

In July, the Kano division of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) apprehended ten individuals believed to be involved in drug trafficking across various locations within the state. The state's NDLEA Public Relations Officer, Mr. Sadiq Maigatari, conveyed this information through a statement issued on Wednesday in Kano.

Among the individuals apprehended, the names of the suspects are Abubakar Yunusa (33), James Temitope (42), Sani Muhammad (23), Aminu Sani (23), and Emeka Williams (31), as stated by Maitagari.

In addition, Inusa Alhassan (31), Muhammad Abubakar (35), Hussaini Hamza (45), Sani Dahiru (30), and Muhammad Ibrahim (30) were among the other individuals implicated, according to Maitagari. He revealed that certain suspects were apprehended in possession of suspected cannabis sativa, while others were found with 2,000 ampules of pentazocine injection and 48 bottles of codeine syrup, totaling 4.8 kg.

The operations leading to the interception of these illegal substances and the arrest of the alleged dealers have substantially curtailed the distribution of these materials within the state, effectively reducing their availability.

"The potential harm that could have arisen from such a volume of illicit substances is immeasurable. This intervention will unquestionably disrupt the illicit drug trade and safeguard the community from potential dangers linked to these prohibited substances," he stated.

Maitagari urged the public to stay vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities to the NDLEA, contributing to the establishment of a drug-free Kano for generations to come.
