Ministerial Nomination: Shehu Sani Urges Non-Confirmation of El-Rufai to Ensure Peace in Nigeria
Shehu Sani, a socio-political commentator, has offered counsel to the Senate, advising against the confirmation of Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, for a ministerial role.
Sani cautioned that the Senate should refrain from endorsing El-Rufai's appointment if Nigeria aims to foster a peaceful environment.
Characterizing the former governor as someone who assumed an authoritative stance during his tenure, Sani highlighted that El-Rufai now depends on the Senate's decision.
In a tweet, Sani categorized the ex-governor as a religious extremist and a fervent ideologue.
As per Sani's words: "The potential ministerial candidate who once wielded power with arrogance, displaying a godlike attitude, is now subject to the authority of those in power."
"A religious extremist with an uncompromising political agenda should not hold a position of authority if the nation's aspiration is tranquility."
The Senate's decision to withhold confirmation for El-Rufai, along with two others, was based on security concerns.
