Man Apprehended for Tricycle Theft in Adamawa
In Adamawa State, a man named Abba Suleiman was arrested for riding a tricycle he allegedly stole. The state police command made this announcement on Thursday, stating that the apprehension occurred during a confidence-building patrol by police operatives from Song Division along Bariki Sajo-Song.
According to the statement signed by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje, the 27-year-old Abba hails from Gombi in Gombi Local Government Area, located north of the state capital, Yola.
According to the statement, Abba was en route to deliver the stolen tricycle to a receiver in Jimeta, an administrative and commercial district that, along with Yola Town, comprises the Yola capital city.
The police statement urged anyone whose tricycle had been stolen to promptly contact the Divisional Police Headquarters in Song, situated near Gombi.
The tricycle, commonly known as Keke NAPEP, is the most prevalent mode of commercial transportation throughout Adamawa State.
Within major towns like Yola, Mubi, and Numan, tricycles serve as the primary taxi service. They also facilitate movement between closely located towns. On longer routes such as Yola-Mubi, Yola-Ganye, Yola-Numan, and similar journeys, cars, particularly Corolla Starlet models, are utilized as inter-city commercial vehicles.
