Foreigners in Philippines Fatally Attack Nigerian Student

A Nigerian student, known as Ikem, reportedly faced a brutal demise at the hands of a group of Chinese individuals in the Republic of the Philippines. According to Michael Ojuola, an associate of the deceased, who posted images on the microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter), Ikem was bound, severely beaten, and succumbed to the ordeal. Michael conveyed the harrowing details, emphasizing the need for accountability and justice, regardless of the diplomatic ties between the Philippines and China.

In his post, he wrote, "A friend of mine, a Nigerian Medical Student named Ikem studying in the Republic of the Philippines, was brutally murdered by a group of Chinese. They tied his hands, covered and gagged him, subjecting him to a severe beating until he passed away. This should never be allowed to be overlooked, irrespective of the relationship between the Philippines and China. This is an act of inhumanity and barbarism! I can't even think straight at the moment due to the horrifying videos I'm receiving from the hospital."

Michael also appealed to Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the Chairman of the Nigerians In Diaspora Commission, and other stakeholders to address the situation urgently.
