Food items distributed to 30,000 residents by Epe Local Government

On Monday, Surah Animashaun, the Chairman of Epe Local Government, took the initiative to distribute food items to over 30,000 inhabitants within the council area. This effort aimed to alleviate the impacts of the removal of fuel subsidies.

Addressing the gathering at the distribution event in Epe, Animashaun expressed that this intervention was a tangible display of the council's unwavering dedication to the prosperity and overall well-being of the local populace.

She emphasized the significance of the fuel subsidy removal as a necessary measure for revitalizing the economy. Animashaun clarified that the provision of distributed essentials like rice, beans, garri, eggs, and yam aimed to mitigate the adverse effects felt by the residents.

"In taking on this responsibility, we pledged to the esteemed citizens of Epe that we would combat poverty and alleviate various forms of human hardships, while ushering in triumph, liberation, and a resurgence of optimism," Animashaun stated.

"Our actions today represent a stride in that direction, offering a glimmer of hope to those who may have felt disheartened within the community," she articulated.

Animashaun affirmed that her administration would persist in providing dedicated service to the residents, consistently ensuring their integration into all aspects of governance. She highlighted the commitment to formulate and implement policies that foster inclusivity and active participation in government affairs.

"Through these measures, we will position the people at the core of our governance approach, allowing them to actively contribute to our daily management through their insights. Collaboration with the public is essential, as success hinges on collective engagement," she emphasized.

"I keep my doors wide open, welcoming community members to share ideas that can advance our locality together. An open-door policy guides my administration. We also embrace Public Private Partnerships (PPP) as a means to address our developmental aspirations," Animashaun added.

She also affirmed that her administration would convene regular town hall gatherings to engage with the community and gain insights into their requirements.

"We are steadfast in our commitment to addressing every aspect of necessity. As soon as we took office, we swiftly initiated action," she remarked.

"With gratitude, I can share that we have accomplished numerous projects, including the establishment of a Primary Health Care Centre in collaboration with the Nigerian Army. Our efforts encompassed the enhancement of the customary court at the secretariat along with our administrative facilities. Additionally, we undertook a substantial initiative to clear drainage systems throughout the community. Moreover, we have been actively engaged in youth empowerment and intervention programs."

"Recognizing the paramount importance of education, we have channeled significant efforts into this sphere, leaving a discernible impact," she concluded.

"Up to this point, we have provided over 500 GCE and JAMB forms free of charge to underprivileged students," she disclosed.

The chairperson asserted her unwavering commitment to driving substantial development within the historical community. She advised the residents, particularly the youth, to avoid becoming instruments of discord or turmoil that could disrupt the community's tranquility.

A recipient of the distributed food items, Mrs. Ramota Seriki, conveyed that the council chairman had convincingly displayed responsible and responsive leadership through this initiative. She expressed gratitude, explaining that the items received would greatly assist her family during these challenging times.

"In this current harsh economic climate, people are grappling with difficulties, and the situation is indeed quite challenging. I extend my gratitude to the government for extending this help through the provision of food items. This assistance will undoubtedly ease the burden for me and my family," she expressed.

Rasheed Olabode, another beneficiary, echoed the sentiment of appreciation toward the council chairman for orchestrating the distribution. Olabode commended the chairman's praiseworthy utilization of government resources to positively influence the lives of the area's residents.

"I am truly moved by this kind gesture. Initially, I perceived it as something minor, yet it unfolded as a substantial offering.
