FG Increases Feeding Allowance for NYSC Corps Members, says Kaduna Coordinator

Hassan Taura, the Kaduna State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), revealed that the Federal Government has approved an enhanced feeding allowance for corps members. The announcement was made during a press interaction after the opening and swearing-in ceremony for the 2023 Batch B Stream 2 orientation course.

Though Taura did not specify the exact allowance that was revised, he emphasized the government's commitment to improving the welfare of corps members. He assured that his focus would be on delivering both quality and quantity in terms of meals, promising that corps members would not have to spend from their own pockets for food during their time at the orientation camp.

Taura also mentioned the collaboration between the state government and private organizations to ensure timely stipend payments for corps members during their primary assignments. He emphasized that, besides the stipend from the Federal Government, employers such as state governments and private entities should contribute an additional stipend to ensure the financial well-being of corps members.
