FCTA schedules promotion exams for over 8,000 workers
Over 8,000 civil servants employed in the Federal Capital Territory Administration are set to take promotion exams this week.
These promotion tests are scheduled to occur over a span of five days, starting on Tuesday, November 25, and ending on Saturday, November 29, 2025. The examinations will be held at the National Open University Study Centre situated along Kubwa Road, Abuja.
Emeka Ezeh, the Chairman of the FCT Civil Service Commission, confirmed on Sunday that the more than 8,000 civil servants participating in this examination represent 165 different positions.
Ezeh mentioned that the FCT Minister approved the request made by the FCT Civil Service Commission to expedite the 2024 promotion process for FCT/FCDA employees across all available positions, as part of his commitment to enhance staff motivation.
He also indicated that the promotion examination will utilize a Computer-Based Test format. This method, he noted, will strengthen the new digital platform for promotion assessments that has been officially sanctioned by the FCT Minister.
Ezeh reminded everyone of the FCT’s groundbreaking efforts, stating: "Remember that the FCT, under the guidance of Barr. Nyesom Wike, was the first Commission in Nigeria to carry out promotion through CBT."
He concluded by referencing past achievements, saying: "In August 2025, the Minister approved the promotion of 49 directors who succeeded in the CBT examination conducted by the Commission."
