CBN Addresses Plans to Change Naira Denominations
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has refuted viral reports suggesting plans to redenominate the naira. In a statement released on Tuesday by the Director of Corporate Communications, Isa AbdulMumin, the CBN expressed astonishment at the reports and advised the public to dismiss such information as speculative. The bank characterized the news as an attempt to cause unnecessary panic in the country.
