Breaking News: Body of Missing Fulani Leader in Plateau Discovered
The remains of Adamu Idris, the missing Fulani leader from Panyam District in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, have been located. The confirmation of this development came from Nuru Abdullahi, the chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria in the state. According to Abdullahi, the late Fulani leader will be laid to rest in Bauchi State. The discovery of the corpse occurred in Dawaki, a community situated in Kanke, another local government area of the state, as confirmed by Abdullahi and Captain Oya James, the spokesperson for the state Operation Safe Haven—a security task force responsible for maintaining peace in the region.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, had issued a directive on September 27, instructing personnel of Operation Safe Haven to recover the corpse within 24 hours. Adamu Idris had been reported missing on September 24 while returning from a visit to the district head of the area, Aminu Darwam.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Alfred Alabo, previously mentioned that the Commissioner of Police, Okoro J. Alawari, directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State CID to oversee the case and ensure a discreet investigation. It was emphasized that the command had implemented all necessary measures to unravel the mystery surrounding the disappearance of Ardo, and the perpetrators of this act would be apprehended and prosecuted.
