Boeing surpasses Airbus with 1,173 plane orders in 2025
Boeing achieved net orders for 1,173 airplanes in 2025, exceeding its European competitor Airbus for the first time since 2018, indicating the company's continued recovery.
Last month, Boeing delivered 63 jetliners, increasing its total annual deliveries to 600 aircraft, the highest number in seven years, following two tragic crashes and other challenges that had hindered production.
Among these deliveries, 44 were 737 Max jets, as the company revealed on Tuesday.
While Airbus outperformed Boeing in deliveries for 2025 with 793 aircraft, this was still below its 2019 peak of 863 deliveries.
The European corporation received 889 net orders for the year.
Boeing registered 174 net orders last month, including more than 100 737 Max jets for Alaska Airlines, which the airline announced last week.
On Tuesday, Delta Air Lines disclosed it had placed an order for at least 30 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, which represents its first order for the wide-body aircraft.
Deliveries are expected to commence in the early 2030s, underscoring how airlines are reserving delivery slots well into the next decade to replace old jets and expand their fleets.
