Acting IGP Egbetokun Forms Panel to Investigate Cadet Sulaiman Jika's Death
Following the tragic demise of young cadet Sulaiman Jika on September 1, 2023, at the Nigeria Police Academy (POLAC) in Wudil, Kano State, Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun has formed a seven-member inquiry panel. The panel, led by Deputy Inspector General of Police Abiodun Alabi, has been tasked with conducting a comprehensive and impartial investigation into the circumstances surrounding the cadet's death.
The IGP has set a four-day deadline for the panel to submit a detailed report with findings and recommendations. Other panel members include AIG Oyeyemi Oyediran (Training and Development), CP Garba Emmanuel Nzukwen (Force Medical Officer), CP Fom Pam Joseph (Homicide FCID), CP Patrick Edung (Training POLAC), a representative from the CP Legal as the secretary, and ACP Idris Abubakar (Principal Staff Officer II to the IGP).
In a statement, the police expressed condolences to Sulaiman Jika's family, the academy community, and assured that the Force would ensure justice in the case during this difficult time.
