AGF assumes control of Mike Ozekhome’s alleged forgery case
The case involving Nigerian Senior Advocate Mike Ozekhome, who is accused of forging and using fake documents in a disputed property matter in the UK, has been taken up by the office of the Attorney-General of the Federation.
On January 16, Ozekhome was charged with three counts by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (FCT/HC/CR/010/2026).
His arraignment was set for Monday at a Federal Capital Territory High Court in Maitama.
Oyedepo, SAN, told the court that the AGF would be handling the case's prosecution when it was called.

The matter will be handled with "the highest standards of efficiency, effectiveness, diligence, and strict adherence to due process of law," he continued.
The AGF will need time to analyse the case file, according to Oyedepo.
Osuobeni Akponimisingha, the ICPC's attorney, did not object to the application.
Consequently, the sitting judge, Peter Kekemeke, postponed the defendant's arraignment until February 24.
During proceedings before the London First-Tier Tribunal, Ozekhome is accused of deliberately providing fake documents, including an international passport from Nigeria, to support his ownership claim of a house at 79 Randall Avenue, London NW2 7SX.
The AGF will need time to analyse the case file, according to Oyedepo.
Osuobeni Akponimisingha, the ICPC's attorney, did not object to the application.
Consequently, the sitting judge, Peter Kekemeke, postponed the defendant's arraignment until February 24.
