A Person accused of posing as a doctor and allegedly causing the death of a patient

A 45-year-old individual, Adegoke Olaoluwa, accused of masquerading as a doctor and allegedly causing the death of a 45-year-old patient, Adekunle Badmus, has been remanded in custody by the Iyaganku Magistrate’s Court in Ibadan, Oyo State. Olaoluwa, hailing from the Idi-Aro area of Ibadan, faces a murder charge. The magistrate, A.T. Oyediji, refrained from taking the defendant’s plea and directed that Olaoluwa be held in the Agodi Correctional Centre in Ibadan until legal advice is received from the state Directorate of Public Prosecution.

According to Police Prosecutor Inspector Opeyemi Olagunju, the defendant allegedly caused the death of Badmus unlawfully at Mercy Clinic and Maternity in Idi-Aro, Ibadan, on Tuesday, February 20, around 10:00 am.

Olagunju stated, “The defendant administered saline drugs to the patient without lawful justification. The offense is contrary to Section 316 and punishable under Sections 319 and 484 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Oyo State, 2000.” Section 484 mandates a three-year prison term for an offender, while Section 319 prescribes a death sentence.
