Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore calls Governor Masari a drunkard for suggesting bandits are Fulani

Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore calls Governor Masari a drunkard for suggesting bandits are Fulani

FULANI socio-cultural association Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore  has slammed Katsina State’s Governor Aminu Masari calling him a drunkard for suggesting that most bandits operating in Nigeria are of Fulani ethnic stock.

Of late, Nigeria has been reeling from chronic insecurity with Fulani herdsmen, kidnappers, bandits and rapists all having a field day. Katsina State has borne the brunt of a lot of this insecurity, with Governor Masari overwhelmed by the situation and his constant attempts to broker a truce gave failed.

During a television interview on Monday, Governor Masari decried the spate of attacks launched by bandits, leading to abductions, murder and cattle rustling in the northern part of the country. He alleged that many of the bandits are Fulani indigenes whose main occupation is cattle rearing.

Governor Masari said: “They are the same people like me, who speak the same language like me, who profess the same religious beliefs like me. So, what we have here on the ground are bandits, they are not aliens, they are people we know, they are people that have been living with us for 100s of years.

“The infiltration we have from some West African countries and North African countries are also people of the Fulani extraction. Majority of those involved in this banditry are Fulanis whether it is palatable or it is not palatable but that is the truth.

In response, Saleh Alhassan the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, national secretary, asked Nigerians to ignore the governor. He said: “Did you take that drunkard serious? My governor, do you take him serious? Can’t you see that he is already tired? Records should come from security operatives, not a confused human being.

“He knows them now, is he not a Fulani man? All of them talking, they are stealing security votes, they should find solutions, create ranches for these herders and accommodate them.

“Which people do you find along the Sahel Sahara desert? They are many tribes, is it by a physique that you now identify a Fulani man? The bandits are criminals, why should you attach tribe to it, that’s why we are not happy.

“You don’t need to attach a tribe because it will affect innocent person. Forget that man, that man is the worst Governor Katsina has had, we are just praying for his time to lapse.”

Meanwhile,  Amina Ajayi, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore’s brand ambassador, has unveiled a robust plan to train Fulani pastoralists on modern ranching, modelled after the US. She explained that the first set of trainers and teachers for the Miyetti Allah train-the-trainers’ cattle ranch academy would be travelling to California, USA, in early 2022.

“The primary objective is to expose them to modern and sophisticated techniques in cattle husbandry, dairy abattoir and cattle field grazing. Our company Silicon Valley Nigeria Economic Development has concluded all arrangements with our partners in California, USA,” she said.
