Fulham and Wolves played out a goalless draw at Molineux, with Aleksandar Mitrovic having a late penalty saved.
After Rayan Ait-Nouri brought down Bobby Decordova-Reid, the Serb striker, who scored twice against Liverpool last weekend, was denied by home goalkeeper Jose Sa with 10 minutes remaining.
Bruno Lage’s Wolves have now gone nine Premier League games without a win, having been defeated 2-1 at Leeds on an opening day.
Despite this, they made a strong start against newly promoted Fulham, with Pedro Neto and Hwang Hee-chan both having chances on the left flank saved by Fulham keeper Marek Rodak.
In the first half, Fulham should have taken the lead after Andreas Pereira’s corner found Decordova-Reid unmarked for a header, but new Wolves captain Ruben Neves made a heroic goalline clearance.
Following a defensive mix-up between Rodak and Tosin Adarabioyo, the Cottagers almost gifted the home team a goal a few moments later, but neither Neto nor Podence were able to capitalize.
Mitrovic had been relatively quiet for the majority of the game, with his only notable chance prior to the penalty being a ballooned shot into the stands during the first 45 minutes.
The frustration from his poor spot-kick erupted, however, when a challenge on Morgan Gibson-White resulted in the pair squaring up to each other and both receiving bookings in added time.
