Man United, Real Madrid and PSG all eye Wilfred Ndidi as the summer transfer window looms

SUPER Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has become the renewed subject of transfer speculation with Manchester United and Real Madrid leading the race to sign him during the forthcoming summer transfer window.

Ndidi, 24, has been in scintillating form for his current club Leicester City who are sitting third in the English Premier League table and are on course to qualify for the Uefa Champions League. His performances have caught the eye, with European giants like Paris Saint German (PSG). Manchester United and Real Madrid all eyeing him ahead of next season.

Since joining Leicester City from Belgian side Genk in January 2017, Ndidi has gone on to establish himself as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League. During his time with the Foxed, Ndidi has made 171 appearances, scoring nine goals and providing 10 assists, winning best ball winner and tackler of the year for two seasons running, in the process.

For years Real Madrid have been struggling to find a player who can share the burden of the holding midfield duties with Casemiro. With Luka Modric entering the twilight of his career and Toni Kroos also in his thirties, it is imperative for the Merengues to bolster their midfield making Ndidi is a much required target..

Manchester United also need to identify a long-term successor for Nemanja Matic, who is slowly being phased out of the first-team squad. This has made Ndidi also an option worth considering, especially given his nearly half-a-decade’s worth of experience in the English Premier League.

Apart from Real Madrid and Manchester United, PSG are also interested in signing Ndidi, although Leicester City are yet to be contacted by any of the suitors. Leicester recently offered Ndidi with an improved contract, so are likely to demand a hefty transfer fee from any club that comes in for him.
