Kidnappers murder three of the Greenfield University Kaduna students abducted this week

THREE of the at Greenfield University Kaduna students who were abducted by armed gunmen earlier this week have been killed by their captors in what the state government has described as an act of mindless evil and sheer wickedness.

On Tuesday night, armed bandits stormed the university, a private institution in Kaduna State and abducted several students. Since their abduction, the authorities have been trying to ascertain the whereabouts of the students but this afternoon, the Kaduna State commissioner for internal security and home affairs, Samuel Aruwan, confirmed that three of the pupils have been shot dead.

Describing the killing as an act of mindless evil and sheer wickedness, the commissioner said their bodies had been evacuated to a mortuary. According to the commissioner, their bodies were found in Kwanan Bature village, a location close to the university in Kasarami village off Kaduna-Abuja Road in Chikun Local Government Area.

Governor Nasir El-Rufai has condemned the killing, describing it as sheer wickedness, inhumanity and an outright desecration of human lives by vile entities. He went on to say that the armed bandits represent the worst of humankind and must be fought at all cost for the violent wickedness they represent.

Evil, the governor further said, would not triumph over God-given humanity. He appealed to citizens to come together against the forces of darkness challenging national security and the very existence of the Nigerian state

On behalf of the government and people of Kaduna State, the governor sent his condolences and to the students’ families and the university community, as he prayed for the repose of their souls. He added that the Kaduna State government will keep citizens informed of further developments.
