Biyi Bandele, a filmmaker who died on August 7, 2022, was laid to rest on Friday, September 23, 2022, in Lagos.
The late filmmaker’s family and close associates attended the low-key ceremony.
Tunde Kelani, a veteran cinematographer, wrote on social media after posting photos from the solemn ceremony, “Biyi Bandele goes home.” After a brief ceremony, the writer, poet, screenwriter, director, and photographer were buried today in Lagos. “May his soul find peace.”
‘Half of a Yellow Sun,’ ‘Fifty,’ ‘Blood Sisters,’ and ‘Elesin Oba, The King’s Horseman’ were all directed by Bandele.
