Mbappe suffers broken nose
Kylian Mbappe, France's captain, has been diagnosed with a broken nose following an injury sustained during Monday's 1–0 Euro 2024 victory over Austria, according to the French Football Federation.The FFF issued a statement on Tuesday stating that "Kylian Mbappé suffered a broken nose during the second part of the Austria-France match held this Monday in Düsseldorf."
It continued, "The captain of France was treated first by the medical staff and Dr. Franck Le Gall, who diagnosed him with a nose fracture."
However, in a boost to the 2018 World Cup victors, the federation said that the striker will not need surgery.
"Mbappé will receive treatment in the next days, although surgery will not be performed immediately.
"A mask will be made for him so that the number 10 of the French national team can prepare for his return to the competition after a period dedicated to treatment," said the statement.
