Former X CEO Linda Yaccarino joins AI health startup eMed

Linda Yaccarino, the former CEO of X (previously known as Twitter), has been named the CEO of eMed Population Health, an AI startup dedicated to creating technological solutions for patients utilizing GLP-1 medications like Ozempic.

Before her role at X, Yaccarino was a leading advertising executive at NBCUniversal and spent two years at the helm of the social media platform alongside Elon Musk. During her time there, she was instrumental in stabilizing the company’s advertising sector, despite ongoing issues related to X's diminished content moderation policies.

Now transitioning into the health tech arena, Yaccarino finds herself in a new domain. Although she does not have a healthcare background, eMed highlighted her “undeniable ability to negotiate new partnerships” and recognized that her prominent experience in technology makes her an essential asset for enhancing the firm's visibility and growth.

eMed gained fame during the pandemic due to its digital platform, which aided users in conducting at-home COVID-19 tests by providing detailed guidance. The company is now refocusing its efforts on GLP-1 drugs, a widely used category of medications for weight control and the treatment of type 2 diabetes.

Yaccarino’s appointment represents a critical strategy as eMed seeks to expand its AI-based solutions in a fast-changing health technology landscape.
