Deputy senate president mourns 14 worshippers killed in Kano mosque
Barau Jibrin, Deputy President of the Senate, has expressed his condolences over the deaths of 14 worshippers in Kano after being hit by a trailer after Juma'at prayers on Friday.The Federal Road Safety Corps announced on Friday that 14 worshippers were killed after a trailer ran over them after Friday prayers in Imawa town, Kura Local Government Area, Kano State.
Barau, in a statement issued on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, expressed condolences to the families of the deceased.
He prayed for the spirits of the deceased to rest in peace and for all those who had been hurt to recover quickly.
He stated, "With deep regret, we mourn the untimely loss of 14 worshippers crushed by a trailer following Juma'at prayers in Kano on Friday.
"Our sympathies are with the victims' families and loved ones. We extend our heartfelt condolences in this hour of unspeakable sadness.
"We pray for the souls of the departed to rest in Aljanatul Firdausi and for the Almighty Allah to grant strength and comfort to those they left behind."
