Coalition of Civil Society Organisations Awards Hon Egbala Bassey

The Executive Chairman of Abi Local Government Area, *Hon. Egbala Bassey*, was presented with a prestigious Certificate of Credence for UN Leadership and Good Governance by the Coalition of Civil Society Organisations in Nigeria (CCSON) in Abuja on Monday, May 13, 2025. The presentation ceremony took place at the Council Secretariat in Itigidi, Cross River State.

The award recognises Hon. Bassey's unwavering commitment to transparent governance, inclusive development, and adherence to the principles of accountability and sustainable leadership, which are consistent with global United Nations benchmarks. The award recognises his effective service delivery and people-centered policies, which have distinguished his administration in the local government landscape.

Hon. Chuks Ude, the National Secretary of CCSON, led the delegation, which also included Comrade Stella Cletus, National Welfare Officer, and Hon. (Mrs.) Rosemary Friday, National Public Relations Officer. Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Hon. Ude praised the Chairman's innovative governance model and reaffirmed the Coalition's commitment to highlighting credible leaders from Nigeria's democratic institutions.

In his remarks, Hon. Egbala Bassey expressed deep gratitude for the recognition, dedicating the award to the people of Abi LGA and reaffirming his administration's commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and service.
