I sincerely hope this is President Buhari’s presentation at the ongoing Cop26 environmental summit in Glasgow which he is currently attending

[1] As from 2022, Nigeria will get all new industrial concerns to generate their own power. Nowhere in the world today are industrial start-ups dependent on the national grid for their power supply and this will become the law in Nigeria

[2] We will get Innoson Motors to start manufacturing solar panels as they are the most needed piece of industrial equipment in Nigeria today. Innoson will be given interest-free loans and land to build six mega solar panel factories across Nigeria

[3] Our government will offer interest-free loans in conjunction with banks to anyone who wants to buy solar panels. Traders who want to set up distribution networks will also get interest-free loans from the government through the Bank of Industry

[4] Every one of our 774 local government areas will as from 2022 be compelled to have constrict a microgrid connecting all the homes and businesses within its jurisdiction

[5] As from January 1 2022, it will be illegal to own a private jet in Nigeria. Their carbon footprint is simply too large and private aircraft are nothing but sheer vanity, polluting out environment

[6] Our federal government will place a punitive tax on solar panel imports of about 300%, to force manufacturers to locate their plants in the country

[7] Nigeria will build four offshore waste-to-power plants in Eta Oko, Brass, Nembe and Umon Island with an electrify generation target of about 5,000MW. We will also engage global customers with international waste delivered by sea

[8] It is estimated that around 3% of global annual plastic waste enters the oceans each year. An estimated 299m tonnes of plastics were produced in 2013 but in 2025, the annual input is estimated to be about twice greater. Bear in mind the global demand for plastic waste management market was valued at approximately $24bn in 2017 and is expected to generate revenue of around $29.8bn by the end of 2024. Nigeria will thus build a mega waste plant in Ikot-Abasi

[9] Nigeria will build a 850km coastal windmill farm from Calabar to Badagry A power plant would exist on the coast to convert all its power to electricity and our target will be to create 100,000 jobs.

[10] As from 2023, Nigeria will ban the use of private generators nationwide. They are by far our biggest health hazard in the country today. It is nonsensical to oppose gas flaring then have diesel powered generators everywhere
